The Saw Machine Factory investment projects
Veisto has completed two major investment projects in the 2010s and 2020s. The projects known as the Saw Machine Factory have been aimed at improving the production efficiency and production capacity of the Mäntyharju factory. The South Savo ELY Center has provided funding for these investment projects through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
March 2015 – Saw Machine Factory 2020 Phase 1 Begins
The aim of the project is to enhance the production efficiency and production capacity of Veisto’s factory in Mäntyharju.
December 2017 – Saw Machine Factory 2020 Phase 1 Concludes
February 2018 – Saw Machine Factory 2020 Phase 2 Begins
In the second phase of the project, efforts to improve efficiency, quality, and capacity continue through the modernization of the paint shop, the upgrading of warehouse operations, the optimization of production space usage, the increase of machining capacity, and the enhancement of production traceability. The investments will also achieve a higher level of occupational safety and improvements in working conditions and workload.
April 2020 – Saw Machine Factory 2025 Phase 1 Begins
The purpose of the project is to support sales growth for Veisto while increasing production efficiency and capacity. A specific focus of the project is to significantly raise the manufacturing quality above the current market level. This includes the addition of two new machining centers and an expansion of the machining hall for these machines. Additionally, new staff facilities and production offices is constructed on the factory premises.
December 2020 – Saw Machine Factory 2020 Phase 2 Concludes
August 2021 – Saw Machine Factory 2025 Phase 2 Begins
Phase 2 of the Saw Machine Factory 2025 project complements the first phase and continues the company’s determined development in the saw machine sector. The project’s investments include five new automated storage systems, new machining centers and turning machines, as well as the construction of a new painting chamber and grain blasting room.
